Polo shirts – In the summer term, we allow students to wear white polo shirts as an alternative to a shirt \ blouse and tie. We encourage families to purchase plain white polo shirts, without designer or sports logos as a cheaper alternative to the embroidered Chauncy logo polo shirt. The embroidered range of Chauncy polo shirts will still be available to purchase from Kids Connection Hertford, however.

Footwear – Plain black flat-heeled polishable shoes, no sports logos, no boots, canvas, fabric or plimsolls. Plain all-black polishable sports shoes are allowed as an alternative.

Jewellery including rings should not be worn to school. If your child has pierced ears, only small studs should be worn in the interest of safety.

Water Bottles – To cut down on plastic waste we now ask that students bring a reusable water bottle to school. We have five water coolers that can be used to fill water bottles at break and lunchtime. We will also be selling 500ml sports water bottles from the Finance Office for £1.50.

Wearing PE Uniform during the school day – Students may arrive at school in PE uniform if they have PE Period One. They must change into school uniforms for Period Two. Students can only wear PE uniform for PM Form time and go home in PE uniform if they have a PE lesson during Period Five. 

Uniform Detentions – Students who arrive at school without aspects of their uniform will attend a 15-minute uniform detention. Trousers, shirts, polo shirts and black plimsolls are available from the Pastoral Office and loaned to those students who do not have the correct uniform. Failure to wear the correct school uniform will be considered defiant behaviour and further sanctions will be applied.

Financial Support for Uniform – We ask parents to donate unwanted high-quality items of uniform to the school. These items are cleaned and are available to families if they are unable to purchase uniforms. There are also local charities that may be able to help in times of financial hardship.
